Audrey Rose Drollinger meets Corporal Charlie Henderson Burke at a Fourth of July Army Ranger dance in Tullahoma Tennessee. The two soon learn they have a great deal in common: a love for their country, loyalty to the army, and, of course, an immediate attraction to one another.
As their relationship develops through their correspondence, the couple moves closer and closer to one of the most important days of WWII. What neither foresees, however, is the significant role each will play in the day’s events . . . and whether they’ll both make it out alive.

I really do love the letters! I work for a retirement community and we have our residents reading the letters along with the staff, but the lettering is so small. If you could enlarge them, this would help so much. This generation has great stories to share after each letter and I love how beautifully they are written, but the lettering is so tiny. It is so much more than just letters; it is a totally immersible experience. I really like the online extended learning feature, which has well-researched, concise information about that era. The Audrey Rose story was ordered for my mother in honor of her 79th birthday. I told her to be "on the lookout" for a special delivery on a particular day - I had received notification her item was out for delivery. I received the WWII Audrey Rose letters. How perfect because my parents met at that time. In fact, a picture of my mother shows the same hairstyle as Audrey Rose. My daughter gave Audrey Rose to me as a Mother's Day gift. Once reading the first mailing I was hooked. I come from a military family, I have a brother who served in WWII, my Grandfather in the Civil War, and I served during the Viet Nam Era. These letters are well written and make you feel the emotions of the writer. I am right there in the moment as I'm reading each one. I'm sad when the letter is read but excited when the next one arrives. My daughter picked the perfect letter for me. So glad she did. I just read letter #6. Now, I must wait for the next one.

I received the letters between Audrey Rose and Charlie for Christmas from my daughter. As I was reading the 3rd letter, I realized that my Dad was also at Camp Forrest just about the same time as Charlie and my Mom and Dad were dating at the time! The letter brought my parents back to life as I imagined them through Charlie's letter. It was heart warming! I am thoroughly enjoying the story of these two and look forward to receiving the next letters!

I ordered for my mother, a very elderly person. Knowing I was going to leave a review, she said to tell you that she “LOVES THEM!”
She eagerly looks forward to the next installment, and calls me when it arrives, but not until after she’s read it! She even loves the way you address them, to “kindly deliver into the care of”. She comments on it, every letter. A small thought, she receives the Audrey Rose series, and has absolutely no complaint, but the gentleman’s letters are very low contrast and somewhat difficult for aging eyes to make out. Although, I do think she loves to have me read those to her, she would love for them to be easier to make out without help. We highly recommend and plan to work our way through the complete collection. Thank you!

Got Letters for my sister who is in her 80's and her only complaint is the font is small and she has to use a magnifying glass. Perhaps if you can make the font larger it would help the older folks. She loves getting the letters and I am so happy I got them fot her.

I recently received my 4th letter and I am really pleased with them. I feel that they are very well written and well thought out. I am definitely considering getting one of your other letter sets in the future.
The only part that I have any concerns about is that since they are written in script they are not always easy to read. But then again I think that is a good idea to keep the idea of two people writing back to each other.

I thought how could they know I was born in jacksonville, worked in brazil married to someone from New york? I told my niece and she sent me this. i love writing letters. then I got an email of the WWII love letters and listened to the music. you will laugh and cry. Best gift ever!!!!!

This was the perfect gift for my mother, who loves to read stories and receive things in the mail. She is 93 so the historical story was perfect for her. The only issue that I have with this is that the writing is small font on paper that has flowers on it making it hard to read even for the young. She must ask a nurse to come in and read the letter to her or use a magnifying glass. I suggest offering it in larger print.

I adore the Audrey Rose WWII Collection. My dad and his 3 older brothers all served and my mom’s brother did has well. My mom and Grandma also worked on the Homefront. Mom tested crystals for airplane radios. Mom and dad met when he came home in 1946 and they married in 1947. Although my dad died when I was only 23, we loved watching old WWII movies together. My mom just died this summer, in June, at 99 1/2 yrs. old. I recently acquired 2 letters my dad wrote her after they started dating. It’s bittersweet but he sure loved my mom.

I love Audrey Rose, I chose it because I grew up in the 40’s, I remember so many of the red letter expressions my mother and Aunts told me about. My mom and dad dated during the depression and the beginning of the war when so many things were rationed.
My first love was the boy next door. His name was Charlie. Love the memories.

However the font size is small and often on a dark background, so the words can be difficult to read (even for me). If this was improved the letters would be recommended.

The extras enclosed with the mailings are fun to find and I am keeping the letters in a binder so I keep the story in order to reread or share with others. The only suggestion I would give would be to enlarge the font a bit for us "older" readers.
