How it
started

We started The Flower Letters in 2020 with the hope that a few people would see what we were doing, get it, and sign up. What we didn't expect was what came back to us: readers writing back.

Hand-written letters arrived. Notes arrived. Stories arrived โ€” of chronic illness, of families separated by years of silence, of couples reading together every week. Those stories became our mission.

Everything we do today is built around four pillars that came directly from you, our readers. This is what we set out to accomplish every day.

The Four Pillars

01
Bring Joy Joy should be in everything we do โ€” our stories, our emails, our interactions with you. Our stories will always be full of light, hope, love, and joy. We want you to look forward to each letter and smile at the end. We want your experience โ€” whether giving this as a gift or receiving it โ€” to be joyful from beginning to end.
"My husband bought this for me for Christmas, and I truly cannot express how much I love it. I find myself already counting the days until the next letter arrives, knowing it will bring that same sense of wonder, connection, and anticipation all over again."

"She sounded like an excited child talking about getting her next letter. I don't think in my over 40 years I have ever heard her sound excited about something. Don't know if I'll ever be able to top this one."
Tonya H.  ยท  Gifted to mother

Administer Relief A few months after launch, a subscriber with a chronic illness wrote to tell us how having something to look forward to brought her relief. She put the letters on her nightstand and read them over and over. Our stories are safe, wholesome, and full of light โ€” and we do everything in our power outside the story experience to bring relief as well.
"I have Multiple Sclerosis and have short-term memory loss. These letters make it so that I can enjoy reading again! Multiple Sclerosis has taken a lot from me and you gave me a little piece of something back that I never thought I would see again. I am eternally grateful."
Natasha H.  ยท  Norah Aven
"My friend was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She takes the letters to her treatment appointments and shares them with the other patients there. I know she will not be with us for long, but I am thankful you are able to help me give her some happiness."

Unite Family & Friends In 2022, a reader told us she hadn't spoken with her mother in years โ€” the letters gave them a reason to reconnect. We've received that story, in different forms, from all over the world. Families call each other after every mailing. Couples read together. Friends gather. We are honored to be the reason.
"My first group was Audrey Rose, which I purchased for my daughter, two nieces, and myself. Being separated in different cities and states, we would call each other and discuss what was happening to our characters. We also caught up with each other's news."

"After losing my husband recently and then almost losing my daughter, it has been a tough 8 months. My daughter thought your product would help. I love the story โ€” but most of all I love the anticipation. It has helped in so many ways, so thank you."

Enrich the Mind Most of our stories center on important eras in history โ€” not just for the drama, but to keep history alive and spark curiosity. Audrey Rose brings World War II to life. Lily Clara covers the Victorian West. Adelaide Magnolia is set in Regency England. Each series includes Extended Learning โ€” a companion resource that connects you deeper with the era and, hopefully, inspires you to dive further on your own. More eras, more stories to come.
"I am from Germany. When the letter arrives I first read everything, then translate it to German and read it to my parents who are both 85. My father is in an early dementia state but enjoys the reading so much. My parents can't wait for the next letter."
Siegrun S.  ยท  Lily Clara, subscriber from Germany
"Not only is it the story and the supporting goodies, but the American History in the Learning Pages. This story touches on places I have been and things I have learned โ€” the transcontinental railroad is just one of those things."
Sharon E.  ยท  Lily Clara
In their own words
โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… "I absolutely love the Flower Letters, bless you for coming up with this idea. A couple of months after my husband passed away, these letters have been a life saver, giving me something to look forward to every month. They have eased my grief, which kind of surprises me โ€” who would think fictional letters could be a balm? But they have been."
โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… "I purchased the letters for my mother who has dementia. We look forward to the next letter together โ€” she will frequently ask if we've gotten another one. When we get a new one, we usually reread the previous letter beforehand to get up to speed. I think it's one of the best gifts I've given, since it keeps on giving."
โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… "My daughter gave me the Audrey Rose letters for Christmas. As I was reading, I realized my Dad was also at Camp Forrest around the same time as Charlie. The letter brought my parents back to life as I imagined them through Charlie's words. It was heart warming."
โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… โ˜… "The day she received her first letter, she called me to say she was looking forward to the next. We're now at letter three, and after each one she calls to tell me all about it. She provided such positive reviews that I treated myself to a subscription as well!"
Thank you for being
part of this
Whether you've been with us since the beginning or just arrived โ€” you are the reason this mission exists. You are the reason we write, and the reason we'll keep going. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Michael & Hannie Clark Founders, The Flower Letters
