I bought these to read to my daughter as she was interested in the Amazon. She has loved the story, the posters and most importantly the cookie recipe included with one of the letters. We are about half way through the letters and it remains interesting, even for my 7 year old.

I loved the Adelaide magnolia experience so much that I had to get a second storyโฆ and then a third. I think Orchid Mae may be my favorite so far (and yes, I will absolutely be getting a fourth). As a regular letter writer myself, and a lover of historical fiction, my day instantly gets better when I open my mailbox to see a flower letter waiting. When asked why I bother sending letters (and I do get asked quite a lot), I always tell people that there is something joyful about getting โfun mailโ, and thatโs exactly what this is.
The stories themselves are enjoyable, but I also love the vintage prints and activities included. The prints get pride of place on my fridge, and Iโm working on one of the mitten knitting patterns now. Because it turns out my hobbies overlap quite a bit with 19th and early 20th century women. It feels like this entire idea was dreamed up with me specifically in mind, and Iโve gotten a couple friends into it as well.
My only critique, or wish rather, is for a story that focuses less on a romance in favor of other kinds of relationships, but clearly Iโm having a great time with them regardless.
